Citizen’s Tele-Law mobile app – launched by Law Minister Kiren Rijiju

Introduction

Union law minister Kiren Rijiju launched a mobile app for citizens that enables online consultation with panel lawyers. The app was launched as part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations. The app would connect the beneficiaries directly with panel lawyers offering legal advice and consultation. The Tele-Law initiative of the Department of Justice, launched in 2017, is a free service for the poor and marginalised sections of the society.

Expansion of Tele law

The expansion of Tele-Law in 75,000 Gram Panchayats covering all States/UTs as a part of the 75 years of India’s Independence celebrations.

Significance of App

Citizens’ Tele-Law Mobile App is a first of its kind. With the help of this app, every citizen will have access to a lawyer on single click. This is an accordance of Article 14 of the Constitution of India providing an equal opportunity before law
